Catalytic Formations also explores the complex relationships between process, architectural forms, and their experiential influenced by the digital technologies.  Rahim’s concern is within the function of architectural form, not its aesthetic value.  He touches on themes of permanence vs. temporality, describing the duration of architecture and its quantitative and qualitative characteristics in regard to change over time.  Furthermore, Rahim discusses principles of physics and thermodynamics in relation to architecture and their result on current practice.
